Perspectives define aesthetics.

Long before anyone reads a sign, they read the light. People move toward the bright part of a room and slow down at the dim edge of it, registering brightness and contrast as direction without ever deciding to.

A standard lighting audit returns clean results, and nobody asks a follow-up question. Fixture counts match. Wattage is within tolerance. Lumen output is where the spec says it should be. The report is filed, the client is satisfied - yet, the space’s lighting design continues to underperform in ways the audit was never designed to detect. This is not a failure of execution; it is a failure of the question being asked.
